Question Types

Chapter Questions

Did you know that you could make your course more interactive to keep learner’s mind active by recapturing chapter’s main points? In doing this, the admin can ask chapter-related questions in the middle or at the end of each chapter. These are called 'Chapter Questions.'

Here’s how chapter question slides work. If the learner selects a correct answer, they are rewarded with comments like 'great choice' and 'well done.' However, if they answer the question incorrectly, they see a comment like 'That is incorrect, please try again' or 'False, the sky is blue not orange' (as seen in the screenshots below).

What are the benefits of using Chapter Question slides?

  • These are multiple choice questions which are quick and easy to score;
  • The learner becomes more involved in the training course;
  • Instant feedback is provided when the learner answers a question;
  • The learner is not allowed to move to the next chapter until they provide the correct answer;
  • The key points of each chapter are recaptured and summarized

Below is a step-by-step guide on how to add chapter question slides in your Course Builder:

  1. Click + to add a new regular slide
  2. To add a question on the slide, click the question mark button.
  3. Complete the fields as shown in the screenshot below. Provide Feedback Headers and corresponding comments, where required. Don't forget to mark at least one answer as 'correct.'

The learner will not be able to progress to the next slide without knowing the correct answer. The learner is allowed to select all possible answers until the correct answer is selected.

Quiz Questions

Another question type is called 'Quiz Questions.' These questions can be asked either as chapter quiz questions or as final quiz questions. Quiz questions are less engaging and do not provide feedback for incorrect or correct answers. The learner, therefore, must get the answer correct, otherwise, he/she will be brought back to the beginning of the chapter or the beginning of the course to start again.

For the final quiz questions, what determines if the learner is brought back to the beginning of the course is the course pass score percentage set by the admin. For example, if the passing score is 100% and the learner scores below that, he/she will have to redo the entire course.

Here are the key advantages of using quiz questions:

  • Incorrect answers bring the learner to the beginning of the chapter or beginning of the course;
  • Learners are encouraged to be more attentive.

Below is a step-by-step guide on how to add quiz question slides in your Course Builder:

  1. Click ? to add a question slide
  2. Type your question in the open space, enter answers below and check the box with the correct answer(s). Don't forget to mark at least one answer as 'correct.'
